LYRICS Can't figure out how it came to this But I know it's going to be hard to fix Cords untangled until they give Leaving me all alone in a dark room Footsteps of memories are echoing Sunlight won’t dare a single ray in Still holding on but I'm breaking soon leaving me all alone in a dark room In a dark room Oh In a dark room Took what I had and put it all away I can't bear to show off anything Time is slowly fading into yesterday And I'm here all alone in a dark room In a dark room Oh In a dark room Think you're going to know if you're singing the wrong note But your tone deaf, the phone's dead, your batteries turned off You have no control, really no Control Because you lost that, forgot that so long ago Not even a chair here to lift you higher Only the cold floor boards and they burn you like fire Just a simple gleam of hope is all you desire Being here all alone in a dark room In a dark Room Oh in a dark, in a dark dark room
Lynn Moffatt, "I Drink" (Mary Gauthier cover) | Strombo Session
Coming from a small town community where addiction and alcoholism can be very visible, this song really struck me when I first heard it. I wanted to sing it and share it. Mary Gauthier is a songwriting genius and also a fascinating live performer. The Strombo Show presented an International Women's Day Special on Sunday, March 5 on CBC Radio 2. I was invited discuss International Women's Day with Strombo and perform a cover of an influential female songwriter. My band and I decided to cover Mary Gauthier's song, "I Drink". I hope you enjoy our cover. Check It Out - Lynn Moffatt (with lyrics)
You'll only know whats around the next corner if you keep moving forward. So go for it! I shot all the footage shot during various road trips around North America, starting, naturally, from the dirt road in Wanapitei and Capreol Lake Road, where I grew up. See if you can recognize some of the spots! Don't forget to subscribe so that I can keep bringing you new music!

Hank Williams - Lovesick Blues (Cover) - Lynn Moffatt
Hank Williams didn't necessarily write this one but he did make it popular. And now, thanks to The Yodeling Walmart Kid (Mason Ramsey), Williams original recording is charting on Spotify in 2018. I'm ecstatic about the comeback! This is one of the first songs that made me want to sing country music. I can't say my version is as twangy as Hank sang it...or as the young yodeler sang it...but I hope you still enjoy it!
